Newark, DE – February 4, 2017 – CCC Project Estimator, Michael Ehret volunteered to be a judge at the 23rd annual NAWIC Block Kids Competition. The children were split up by grade, 1st through 6th, and were given about an hour to put something together that was related to construction. They were given a rock, a string, legos, aluminum foil and a manila folder. As a judge, Mike was responsible for interviewing and rating the children’s designs. He saw the children construct cranes, scissor lifts, buildings, wrecking balls, bridges and many more unique creations. After everyone was interviewed and graded, overall competition winners were announced as well as the winners for each grade. It was a fun event! Pictured is a group shot of the volunteers. Mike is in the second row, 6th from the right.
