Project Overview
Asbury Square is a retail complex with multiple building pads. Corrado Construction provided earthwork services for the main access road and a 55,000-square-foot hotel. Our work consisted of erosion control installation, demolition, earthwork, sanitary sewer, water, and storm drain installation, concrete curb and sidewalk construction, and paving. In addition, Corrado performed the offsite water installation and DelDOT road improvements for the entrance work.
Key Challenges
A key challenge was the box culvert construction. Access to the hotel building site was restricted until the box culvert could be installed. Corrado worked closely with the design engineer and conservation district to provide value engineering and a design build option for the concrete box culvert, which allowed the hotel general contractor to access the building pad while the culvert was under construction.
