Project Overview
Over 200 acres of farm fields are being developed for industrial, medical, and office buildings in Smyrna, Delaware. Corrado Construction is working on Phase I out of three phases. The site is adjacent to Duck Creek so meticulous care will be taken to preserve the integrity of the environment.
Key Challenges
Corrado’s use of AGTEK during preconstruction enabled grading adjustments to be made that minimized the cost of the cut/fill operation. Corrado also helped the client identify the first round of pads they wanted developed, which allowed CCC to strategically position soil stockpiles to minimize future re-handling costs.
Due to the sheer size of the site, there are phasing limitations on how much area can be disturbed during earth moving activities. Corrado works closely with Kent County Conservation District to continually complete and stabilize disturbed areas when ready to move to perform earthwork at another area on the site.
