Project Overview
Corrado Construction was awarded the sitework package for the excavation of irrigation ponds at the Ed Oliver golf course. The scope of work included:
- 1,300 LF of Storm Pipe Install
- 1,300 LF of Storm Pipe Demo
- 600 Tons 57 Stone
- 500 Tons Rip Rap
- 66,000 CY of Excavation and Embankment
Key Challenges
CCC had to contend with adverse weather conditions – snow and rain – at the beginning of the job in January 2016.
Accessing the site within an active golf course was a challenge. Plastic matting was used to minimize the impact of the construction equipment on the course.
The golf course was still open during construction so Corrado had to be ultra-vigilant so as to not disrupt or endanger any guests or employees at the facility.
Soil conditions on the site varied. Planning was required in order to use clay material found on-site for the embankment construction.
