Project Overview
Corrado Construction imported and distributed approximately 10,000 cubic yards of sand to restore the shoreline to property boundaries mapped in the 1980s. New storm drainage and outfall were installed in the bay. This was an exciting project to work on; the transformation of the shoreline from beginning to end was incredible.
Key Challenges
Erosion and sediment control was critical and water turbidity had to be controlled. Corrado worked with DNREC and the design team to install a turbidity curtain in the bay.
Storm drain installation was below sea level; Corrado coordinated our work during low tides and used dewatering techniques to control water. The work needed to be scheduled around bird and horseshoe migration seasons.
