Project Overview
Tanager Woods is a 3-phase residential subdivision in Lewes, Delaware consisting of 168 single family lots with a clubhouse and amenities area. Corrado Construction provided erosion and sediment control installation, earthwork, utility installation, curb and gutter, and paving. In addition, Corrado Construction provided the DelDOT improvements at the entranceway and along Robinsonville Road.
- 90,000 cubic yards of dirt moved
- 3,000 feet of storm drain installed
- 2,900 feet of water main installed
- 3,300 feet of sanitary sewer installed
- 2,000 tons of asphalt placed
Key Challenges
Some key challenges during the site development included high groundwater levels during pond and utility construction. In addition, the existing site drainage was upgraded along Robinsonville Road and improved at the discharge location across the street in the neighboring Tidewater Landing subdivision. Corrado Construction had to adjust the erosion and sediment control plan and measures to help deal with high clay content soils onsite so that the neighboring pond was not contaminated.
Corrado Construction was awarded the 2023 award from the Sussex Conservation District for our diligent and constant efforts to keep the neighboring pond clean.
