Project Overview
The Delaware Logistics Park is a multi-phase shipping and logistics park located in New Castle, Delaware. The 134-acre site is home to three buildings that total 1.75 million SF. Corrado Construction was responsible for the sitework package, including grading, utilities, curb and paving.
Key Challenges
The project had an aggressive schedule and was performed during one of the wettest years on record. Corrado was able to turn over building pads ahead of their scheduled construction start dates and finish the project on time by utilizing careful planning and effective time management, as well as increasing crew hours when necessary. The project team worked closely with local authorities for approval to place material in areas that would need fill in future phases of the job. This effort benefitted the client as it cut down on the time needed to complete the future phases, resulting in savings to the bottom line.
